Grimsby Town Futsal head to Birmingham this week to compete in the second group stage round of the EFL National Futsal Cup.
Both Grimsby representative sides qualified from the first round last November and share ambitions to make the final 8 and quarter finals.
Grimsby Town B finished 1st in their group winning 3 from 3, meanwhile the Mariner’s A side and current holders had a tricky time in their group losing their opening game but winning the last two meaning they qualified as runners up.
The two Town sides avoided each other in the draw but Grimsby Town B will feel they have a trickier group with last years’ runners up Norwich along with EFL South League leaders Southampton and Premiership counterparts Stoke City making up Group B.
Meanwhile in Group A Grimsby A face: Burton Albion, Peterborough, Sheffield United and Blackpool (who beat Town in the last round).
In order to qualify for the quarter finals later this year both teams will have to finish in the top 2 of their respective groups.
The games take place at the Pro Direct Birmingham Futsal Arena on Thursday 9th March.
